This release has two new features that will be of interest to advanced users, especially those involved in sample roasting or profile development.
The ability to record the following events in the roast log: colour change, first crack, end of first crack, second crack, end of second crack. To activate this feature, use the ≡ button to get 'Press ▶ now to log first crack' and then use the - and + buttons to select the desired the event name.
Artisan CSV import and export. This will let you use Artisan to analyse a roast log from a Kaffelogic. It also lets you import a roast profile from a different roaster for use in your Kaffelogic.
The Studio beta release has now been updated to version 3.1.1.
This update addresses a number of issues that emerged regarding usability. The software now provides guidance for setting the two critical roast parameters that have been tripping people up: preheat power and minimum rate of rise.
Additionally the Linux installation has changed because we were seeing various issues with graphics display and mouse movement. The new installation process is a little more intensive (we don't have a one-click installer). We await feedback from Linux users.
These releases provide enhancements and minor bug fixes. The temperature conversion system used for profile import/export has been overhauled to give much more fine-grained control. The 'Transform' and 'Compare' features have been improved. Writing log files has been made more robust.
