Air purifiers for use with Kaffelogic

We have found that putting an air purifier close to the Kaffelogic Nano can give as good a result as an extractor fan.

Smoke alarms
Photoelectric smoke alarms will not be triggered by coffee roasting smoke. However, we still recommend that you know how to temporarily disable the smoke alarm if it should go off, and do not roast where there is risk that a smoke alarm will trigger a fire service callout or building evacuation.

Ionization-type smoke alarms are very sensitive to coffee roasting smoke. An air purifier in the same room as an ionization smoke detector will not prevent alarms. The air purifier copes with odour - not with alarms.

Small purifiers
A small desktop purifier is adequate for light roasts up to around three roasts per day. An example is https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smar ... adr-kogan/. It will cope with the odour, but smoke will build up over multiple roasts. The big advantage here is that it can fit in your kitchen and make regular daily roasting possible without any unpleasant odour.

Larger purifiers
A larger purifier is adequate for darker roasts, and for multiple roasts per day. We have had good success with this model: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-mi- ... 2h-xiaomi/

Neither of these options will capture all smoke, but they do enough to make the small amount of residual smoke tolerable or negligible in a kitchen. There is nothing particularly special about these two examples: almost any similar product can be expected to perform similarly.
