Err… I guess some chaff got stuck and caught fire?
Left the garage for a moment (bad idea I know), and then smelled something a little too smoke-like. Came back to find a glowing mess. Bottom of chaff collector and top of housing (the collar bit) all melted. Quickly unlplugged, tipped the beans onto the driveway and poured water on them (not the roaster!).
Electronics seem fine (not sure about the probe as it looks pretty black).
Is this salvageable with replacement parts?! Pics to come in daylight. I’ve only had it a year… just got my new espresso machine today; what a roller coaster of emotion!
My roaster melted!

OH WOW!!!
That's terrible!! Where in NZ are you? Let's get the unit in and repair it. Top of the machine and another chaff collector.
