USB hole.

Post by aalkaabi »

Hi,

Great home roaster. just received it few days back and everything seems to work just fine. My only concern is the wires showing up through the usb hole. Please look at picture and tell me if that is all right.

cheers.

What you can see are the thermocouple leads. They are perfectly safe and functional in this position (maximum voltage that they carry is 3v). There is no cause for concern.

As a further note: this is not the standard appearance of these wires and we are modifying our assembly processes to ensure the correct routing of these wires in all future manufacturing.

Although I have no concerns about the functionality or safety of your unit, we have identified it as a departure from our standard manufacturing finish. I am happy to correct the cable routing under warranty if that is your preference. Let me know if you would like to follow this option.

ooh thanks, I appreciate the support initiative. The machine is working perfectly fine, there is no reason to ship it internationally for this minor issue. I think I will just buy one of these USB adapters and glue it in, that should solve the issue.

The adapter is a good option, but I don't recommend gluing it in because that will make removing the back cover difficult in future - a maintenance nightmare. I recommend leaving it permanently in place, but no glue.

If you are confident with removing the covers and re-routing the thermocouple lead yourself I am happy to provide instructions.

No issues at all, i just used 3M double face tape, removable if needed, it worked like a charm.

Looks good. Nice to have the memory stick sitting flush instead of sticking out.
