Re: warped plastic top

We are now using glass fibre reinforced plastic for the tops. Units manufactured since later in 2020 use the glass fibre. Customers with machines showing significant warping in the plastic top (we have found the degree of warping to be quite variable so not all machines are equally affected) should ...

Re: Bizarre roaster behaviour

This is a fault. The thermal fuse (which is part of the element unit) has, to use a not-too-technical term, gone on the blink. It is faulty, and instead of just burning out as it should in an overheating situation it is going off and back on again in a normal heating situation. You can see this happ...

Re: New Chaff Corrector

Yes the glass inner will come out for wiping, washing or dishwasher. Capacity will be less than the existing, but thanks for pointing out that it needs to be tested with 'chaffy' beans. There is huge variation in amounts of chaff produced.

Cashews and Hazel Nuts too

After further experimentation with roasting nuts using David's profile, I have had great success with cashew and hazel nuts. I have made a change to allow the roast to be automatically stopped earlier, so the levels have been shifted down, but nothing else has changed. I have called the modified pro...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)

Thanks for your detailed reply ... much appreciated. It seems if I wish to continue my experiment with power profile zones I would need to control the supply voltage... having no idea how to accomplish this ... could you recommend a suitable device? Cheers Mark I am aware at least one user who runs...

Re: New feature requested: button lock

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses. My preference is to keep the user interface as simple as possible, and as there seems to be reasonable acceptance of the existing, so I won't embark on implementing a button lock at present.

Re: Studio software compatibility

For info, I couldn’t get that to run on my old laptop. All good though, I snaffled the Studmistress’s new one and loaded up on it. Thanks for trying. Looks like we are not going to be able to support XP. No surprises there, just a tinge of regret from an old timer who still remembers installing Win...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)

Continuing to test Steve's Power profile ... here's 2 Klogs with the same Power settings and using 3 power zones using the same beans ... but very different results. I can't figure out why they are so different ... yet have the same settings, Same beans, same size (100g). Both set to finish at 222c...
